Innovative Packaging

TT SENOR

The TT Sensor™ monitors time and temperature to alert consumers when a product may no longer be fresh. The TT Sensor™, a Time-Temperature Indicator label that allows processors and consumers to accurately monitor the cold chain integrity of perishable products such as dairy, fresh seafood, meat, and even items such as fresh flowers. The product may also be of interest to companies that transport temperature-sensitive medical products, such as vaccines.

This small label releases steam build-up during cooking without any manipulation by the user. The labels will change colors to denote the passage of time and temperature. TT Sensor™ is a two-piece label composed of an indicator label and a transparent activator label. The activator label is applied to the indicator, then immediately dispensed onto the package. Temperature monitoring begins only at that point. Unlike some previously marketed time-temperature indicator products, TT Sensor™ labels do not need to be refrigerated prior to application.

Anti-microbial label releases chlorine dioxide gas to fight both bacteria and fungi. The Anti-Microbial active label will be placed within fresh produce packaging, it releases trace amounts of chlorine dioxide--safely and reliably impeding the growth of mold and bacteria. It is similarly effective to other products that are susceptible to degradation from moisture, such as leather goods. Anti-Microbial active label allows package designers to discretely integrate the distribution system into the package without taking up space or compromising appearance.

The TT Sensor™ mention in the website is good.I should say it quite creative although the product is not commonly seen or found in singapore. However, if you stand at the point of a shopper, this product enables the consumer to know and to be aware of the life span of the product but one disadvantage i find is that it isn't pratical. If you install such sensor into the box (example: eggs),how much would it cost?will it be the market price we brought from the market @ $2.50 per tray or more than $10.00?

As for the second product shown in the website,it is practical as it allows the steam to be release rather than allow water vapour to be inside the cooked food.

As for the last product, this is a good example because we can find this kind of package in any supermarkets in singapore. This parkage enable the fruits such as cherry to "breathe",therefore, it will slow down the growth of bacteria and mould. Moreover, it is small and very easy to be kept in the fridge or a chiller.

this is good as it would help to keep the food inside more fresh and also allow the life span on the shelf from maybe 2 hour to extend to 4 hour
