Dry Food Packaging

Dry Foods

Crackers, biscuits, cereals and bakery goods become soggy in moist environments, but a smart packaging design can keep these products fresh longer. Dry food require barrier to moisture and having to maintain stringent flavor and odor requirements such as coffee and tea.

Snack Foods

Snack foods include potato chips/crisps, trail mix, dried fruits, nuts, candy, and other items that are frequently eaten separate from a meal experience.

Package requirements vary with the type of items being packaged, but may include barrier to light, oxygen, or moisture, as well as good toughness, and sealability. Most snack foods are impulse purchases, and the packages have glossy surfaces and eye-catching graphics to attract consumers’ attention. Smaller sized pre-packaged snack foods provide the convenience of portability and portion control.

Packaging Material for Dry Groceries

Aluminum foil within bag helps to increase barrier properties against moisture. This allows the bag to absorb moisture quickly.

At the same time, valves are sealed into the packaging material and are designed for preservation of products such as coffee or tea to keep the aroma and the flavor of the product.
Carbon Dioxide and other gases are being blocked from entering the valves.

Example: The valves allow the fresh roasted coffee to be pack immediately allowing carbon dioxide to exit the package but will not allow any other gases to enter the package to prevent the coffee to go stale.

One-way degassing valve allows a gas / vapor substance to pass through in one direction but not in the opposite one

Empty Foil Bag Construction

The position of the bag, valve and bag bottoms as always seen from the bag face. The bag face is the printed side, the back is the side with the longitudinal glued seam, and dimension for the empty glued paper valve, and bag may be mentioned as below.
